- By LUCY MARSHALL lucy.marshall@reachplc.com @Lucymar20598189

SNOW fell across Hull and East Yorkshire, yesterday, leaving a bright white sheet over the city.

People in the city woke up to temperatures just above freezing and heavy snow showers.

The Met Office has now issued a yellow weather warning of ice, as people should be wary of icy patches on roads and pavements and possible travel delays.

This comes as Storm Arwen wreaked chaos across the country destroying power lines, property and causing standstill traffic - with thousands of homes left without power or heating.

Forecasters said snow was expected to continue in parts of East Yorkshire yesterday and there were clouds and wintery showers.

Snow was predicted to potentially fall over higher ground overnight, and there will be brisk winds and outbreaks of rain.
