Two new dates to satisfy the demand for master chef

AN East Yorkshire restaurant has added two extra dates to sample the talents of Masterchef winner Eddie Scott.
The Pig and Whistle, in Beverley, revealed it was to host a special evening meal and taster menu with Eddie on Friday, July 1.
Fans went wild for the Humber Marine pilot, who was crowned the 2022 Masterchef champion on Thursday after impressing not only the show judges, but also Gordon Ramsay himself.
After Eddie revealed his favourite East Yorkshire restaurant is The Pig and Whistle, owner James Allcock announced that Eddie would host a special night at the Sow Hill Road venue on July 1. But fans were left disappointed when it sold out within 25 minutes.
James has since revealed he received more than 100 begging messages asking him and Eddie to add additional dates. The chef has answered demands and is putting on an extra lunch and dinner session on July 2.
In a Facebook post, James said: “OK, I’ve listened to the fans! let’s do saturday lunch and dinner.
“After a long talk with Eddie and 127 begging messages we’ve launched new dates and we decided the fairest way to please all is just to relaunch on a first come first served basis. Let’s go”.
The champagne tasting menu will set customers back £95 per person but they will be able to try seafood, fish, lamb and duck, as well as a delicious cheesecake dessert. As well as enjoying his food, diners will get to listen to a talk from Eddie himself.
Diners will first be served a potato chaat bite with tamarind, mint and coriander chutney with yoghurt. The next course will be mussels steamed in a South Indian sauce, followed by another seafood course of Amritsari Halibut, that featured on Masterchef.
Guests will then get to tuck into a spiced lamb leg skewer and then the last savoury course will be butter duck. Finally, the dessert will be a baked Fourme d’ambert cheesecake with a hazelnut crumb.
The six courses on offer are a fusion between the French and Indian cuisine that Eddie grew up around and that he interpreted so well on Masterchef. All the dishes have been tried and approved by celebrity judges so Pig & Whistle customers will be in for a treat.
