Tigers owner’s top-flight aim for Hull City
ILICALI TEASES SPONSORSHIP DEAL
HULL City owner Acun Ilicali has provided a teasing glimpse of a new Tigers branded jet that is believed to be the result of a new partnership between the club and a Turkish airline.
The deal is still not confirmed but the official Twitter account of Corendon Airlines retweeted user @covert_h who said: “Hull City have done a sponsorship deal with @Corendon_air, one of their Boeing 737-800s has been repainted in Hull City livery.”
The Hull City owner also took to Instagram to tease the deal posting a video of the plane on his Instagram story with the sound of the Hull crowd playing over the images of the branded Boeing 737. The news of the deal has also been leaked in the aviation press.
Aviation news service MAVIO said: “The latest Boeing 737-800 to join the ever-expanding fleet of Corendon Airlines has been painted in the stunning livery of Hull City. The aircraft painting has been completed in Kaunas.
“MAVIO News is reliably informed that the airframe is an 11-year old example which was originally delivered to Thomson Airways back in 2011. The airframe registered 9H-CXG is the 11th narrowbody from Seattle to join the fleet.
“The aircraft moved from Thomson Airways to Tuifly before eventually going into a short storage period.”
Acun Ilicali has previously revealed he will take 500 Hull City supporters on holiday to Turkey this summer in what is a first for a football club on these shores.
Ilicali revealed to supporters that a select group of Hull City fans and their families will be sent on an all expenses paid, all inclusive trip to a five-star resort in Antalya. Ilicali will be hosting the event.
Full details of the trip are understood to be confirmed in the coming days, but fans will be drawn from a lottery, good causes, charities and various other group. It remains to be seen if Corendon will be the airline to fly the fans to Turkey later this year.
