A THREE-PART television series exploring the issues and impact surrounding the murder of Hull student Libby Squire will air later this year.

The series called Libby Are You Home Yet? tells the story of 21-year-old University of Hull student Libby, who was abducted and murdered walking home in 2019. Libby’s disappearance sparked the largest manhunt in Humberside Police history, which culminated in the arrest of Pawel Relowicz.

Relowicz was jailed last year for the rape and murder of philosophy student Libby before dumping her body in the River Hull.

Libby’s body was brought into Grimsby after she was found in the water just off Cleethorpes.

Relowicz had spotted Libby on a bench in Beverley Road after she was turned away from The Welly nightclub in the early hours of February 1, 2019.

It was later revealed that married Relowicz had been leading a sick double life in which he stalked and sexually assaulted young women in Hull.

Announcing the new show, which will be aired on Sky Crime and Now TV in October, a Sky spokesman said: “With access to Libby’s family, friends and the police, this series chronicles her life, the hours that led to her death and the exhaustive investigation that followed.

“This is not your average true crime story. In a society still prone to victim-blaming - where women seem to be solely responsible for their own personal safety - this series challenges that narrative.”

Libby’s mum Lisa Squire met Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier this year when she called for mandatory whole life sentences for those convicted of rape and murder, as well as tougher measures for minor sex offences such as indecent exposure and voyeurism.

Mrs Squire also wants to meet Relowicz in prison where he is serving a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 27 years for his crimes. She says she wants closure by knowing the details of her daughter’s final moments.
