City is holding many jubilant celebrations in honour of the Queen
FROM STREET PARTIES TO ORGANISED EVENTS IT WILL BE PARTY TIME IN HULL
THE Queens Jubilee celebration weekend has finally arrived with literally hundreds of events planned across our area. There is sure to be something happening near to you and one of the biggest events is being held in and around the village of Cottingham.
The Cottingham Springboard Free Live Music festival starts tomorrow and carries on throughout the weekend with around 200 artists appearing over a host of venues.
The King William IV pub on Hallgate is running two stages featuring live music both in the bar and the other in Martha’s Acoustic Lounge.
Some of the bands appearing there includes The Blackcoates, Soma Crew and Athena and with more than 25 in total to choose from there is sure to be something to suite everyone’s taste.
One of the highlights in the Acoustic Lounge is an appearance from the excellent singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist Diddie Hair.
His writing skills have been acclaimed by some of the best in the business and is certainly not one to be missed.
One of Cottingham’s newest venues is Ralph’s Lounge, which is also on Hallgate and they also have a fantastic line-up, which includes Rum & Strum, Amy Bell, and the legendry Mike Rogers to name a few.
One of Cottingham’s busiest restaurants Woksoever have constructed an acoustic music patio, which will feature the likes of the popular singer-instrumentalist Luku, The Quick Silver Kings and Roy Lion.
Among the other Cottingham venues involved include The Cross Keys, The Tiger Inn and The Duke of
Cumberland and with so many venues taking part in this great annual event there is certainly going to be a lot to choose from.

OTHER Platinum Jubilee celebrations includes The Ryder club on Coltman Street, west Hull, are starting their events this afternoon with a fun-filled party featuring resident compere Ric Owen and guest artist Mark Kelly.
The Ryder are also doing it again on Sunday afternoon with Ric and guest artist Papa Otto.
The Bilton British Legion club on Hull Road in Bilton are hosting a two-day jubilee event starting tomorrow with the popular singer Dan Furniss appearing on stage from 1pm onwards.
There will be a magic show for the younger generation, as well as face painters and a bouncy castle with free entry for all events.
Also, The Clarendon Hotel on Londesborough Street, west Hull, start their Platinum Jubilee Celebrations from 2pm on Thursday with a disco/karaoke, entertainment and a selection of food available.
On Friday afternoon The Welton Memorial Club celebrations start at 12pm with the sounds of Hilton John on stage from 1pm and the jubilee celebrations at The Inglemire Club on Inglemire Lane, west Hull, have a live acoustic set from Dylan Ward starting at 4.30pm.
The Star Inn on Main Street in Willerby also start their jubilee party in the car park weekend on Friday with live music, bouncy castle and food will be available.
The Tranby Social Club on Anlaby Common are holding their Jubilee celebration on Saturday night with the show featuring the rock’n’roll sounds of Dr Jive.
It’s a bring your own picnic event and entry costs £4 for members and £5 guests.
The Hessle Ex-servicemen’s club have the excellent vocal entertainer Geoff Aday on stage on Saturday night.
The evening is a Red, White and Blue theme and it’s bring your own supper.
The Vault Bar on Witham, east
Hull, have organized a full weekend of events and the venue’s Summer Suite will feature the multi-tribute Legends Show tomorrow from 5pm.
On Friday the popular entertainer Chris Holmes will be on stage from 8pm and on Sunday afternoon the vocal duo Dale and Barry will be the guest artists.
AMONG the other gigs of note this week include this afternoon’s Wednesday get-together at the William Gemmell on Anlaby Road, west Hull, with guest artist Paul Ryder.
Tomorrow night The Ritz Country Music Club on Holderness Road, east Hull, features Johnny Flinton and on Friday night Liam Alexander is singing at the Tribal Bar on Humber Street.
On Saturday night the local female vocalist Louise is appearing at the Highland Laddie on Southcoates Lane, east Hull, and on Sunday night Lisa Rogers is appearing at The New Walton Club on Walton Street.
Next Tuesday night The William Gemmell CMC on Anlaby Road features the return of Gary Leonard
