Will Bale line up against Tigers?

- By WILLIAM JACKSON william.jackson@reachplc.com @Williamj93

Gareth Bale is being tipped for a move to the Championship by bookmakers, suggesting he could face off against Hull City next season. The Real Madrid man is a free agent this year as his contract with the Champions League winners comes to an end.

Bale isn’t likely to be short of interest over the summer as he considers his options and it seems the bookmakers think he could end up in south Wales.

He was born in Cardiff and the odds of him joining Cardiff City have been slashed to 3/10 from 15/8 in the last three days on Betfair.

The winger has never represented his hometown club, but he would have to drop into the second tier of English football to do so next season.

Joining up with Steve Morison’s Bluebirds, though, would certainly bolster the club’s chances of promotion back to the top flight.

Bale is currently priced at 6/1 to join any MLS club, while Tottenham Hotspur are at 9/1 to take him back to north London.

Newcastle United are at 11/1, Rangers and AC Milan are priced further back at 16/1.

The Wales international has only made seven appearances for

Madrid this season, but he was named on the bench for last weekend’s Champions League final and he is expected to represent his country this week as Rob Page’s side bid to reach the World Cup finals.
