WHO IS TARGET DIMITRIOS PELKAS?
HULL City continue to be linked to star players from the Turkish Superliga as new owner Acun Ilicali looks to upgrade the Tigers’ squad ahead of the Championship season.
It is the first summer transfer window since the club’s Turkish owner took control and he appears to be exploiting contacts from his home nation in looking at transfer targets.
The latest link from the Superliga, is Fenerbache winger, Dimitrios Pelkas.
Many fans will be unaware of City’s newest target, since the Turkish league is hard to follow in the UK.

Who is Dimitrios Pelkas?
Pelkas is a 28-year-old Greek international, bought by Fenerbache in 20-21, as the Turkish side paid a fee of around £2m to take him from PAOK Thessaloniki.
Earlier in his career he had loan spells at Vitoria in Portugal and Kalamarias in Greece.
What position does Dimitrios Pelkas play?
The Greek primarily played as a left winger last season, although he has also featured on the right and as an attacking midfielder. During his time in Greece, he tended to line up in a central position rather than on the flanks.
Despite being an attacking midfielder, he is more of a goalscorer than a creator, as he has scored 69 goals to his 47 assists over his 316 career appearances.
How did Dimitrios Pelkas do last season?
The 21-22 season was blighted by an injury at the start of the season, as well as one at the end of the season, which meant Pelkas did not reach his top level for Fenerbache.
Subsequently, he scored four goals and made no assists in 23 league appearances, when he had scored seven and assisted eight in 32 games the previous season, when he was much more regularly in the starting line-up.
What has Dimitrios Pelkas achieved in his career?
Pelkas won four trophies in his home country. During his time at PAOK, the club won the Greek cup in 2017, 2018 and 2019, adding the league title in the final year. The attacking midfielder provided a goal and an assist in the three finals and was captain when they lifted the trophy the third time.
He has represented Greece on 26 occasions, scoring once.
