Artist ‘overwhelmed’ as artwork goes viral
ELEANOR TOMLINSON APPEARS ON BBC BREAKFAST
EAST Yorkshire artist Eleanor Tomlinson appeared on BBC Breakfast after she went viral for her artwork, Jubilee Ma’amalade Tea, which has been shared thousands of times, resulting in her being inundated with orders.
Following the artwork going viral, the young artist posted a loving message on her social media where she tells followers how “overwhelmed” she is by the support and wants to give everyone “a big thank you.”
She also thanked the public and everyone who’s emailed for their patience as she has received tens of thousands of messages.
With inspiration taken from the Queen’s heartwarming video with Paddington Bear at the Party at the Palace, Eleanor was inspired by the meeting of the two British icons.
“It was just meant to be a social media post, but it went a bit crazy from there,” Eleanor excitedly told BBC Breakfast on Friday, adding that she has received more than 25,000 emails, ranging from people asking if they could have one to people sharing their love for the piece of art.
She added: “To say I’ve been overwhelmed is an understatement.”
The artist also mentioned she has had to rope in some other family members to help her with rocketing sales and emails.
Paddington actor Hugh Bonneville also tweeted his appreciation for Eleanor’s loving drawing, saying “love this artwork” and tagged Eleanor’s Twitter page.
The piece of art got a lot of love from the public, with plenty of tweets talking about how “gorgeous” and “beautiful” the drawing is. Some even said that it “brought a tear” to their eyes.
