Suspected ruptured Achilles for Hull star Tuimavave

-

CARLOS Tuimavave could be set to miss the rest of the season after limping out of Hull FC’S defeat to Catalans Dragons.

The centre was one of Hull’s best in a flat performance at the Stade Gilbert Brutus as the Black and Whites were beaten 36-8.

However, his evening was cut short after picking up an injury in a tackle with about 20 minutes remaining.

He was helped off the field and Brett Hodgson is fearing the worst after revealing Tuimavave may have ruptured his Achilles.

The head coach also saw

Adam Swift leave the action with what appeared to be a groin issue.

“Swift looks like a groin,” Hodgson said. “We don’t know how bad it is. Carlos is possibly an Achilles (rupture), we don’t know yet.”

The Black and Whites were also without Jordan Lane and Cam Scott, but Hodgson has moved to allay any fears of long-term injuries for the pair. “Jordan hurt his back during the week, the same with Cam Scott,” he said. “They both have a bulging disc that sometimes flares up. I would think they’ll be OK for a fortnight’s time.” Hodgson’s side were convincingly second best against the Dragons, who scored six tries. Hull went over through Josh Griffin and Darnell Mcintosh, but it wasn’t enough to trouble the home side.

“Our execution in good ball really hurt us,” he added. “We played a very good team that taught us some lessons.

“It’s just individuals, we had a mistake early where Carlos looked to pass it to Manu but it was behind him and made the error, we had Luke (Gale) pass to Shaully and it was too far in front and we made the error.

“We then weren’t good enough to get ourselves back into it.

“They scored some tries off of offloads which is their strength, we scrambled hard and we did our best but we just weren’t good enough.”
