New barbershop offering free haircuts to celebrate opening

‘REALLY FUN’ WAY TO MEET CUSTOMERS

A NEW Hull barbershop is offering free haircuts to customers for a full day to celebrate its opening.

Asan’s Barbers will open its new shop in Princes Avenue and offer the free cuts all day today.

Owner Asan Ahmed, will be opening shop from 9am to 6pm and, along with two other experienced barbers, will cut customers’ hair completely free of charge.

No bookings are necessary, and those after the deal just need to walk in to the newly refurbished shop during opening times.

Asan has been in the barber business for 15 years and learnt his trade at Mozart Hair Design.

He also owns another business, called Walk-in Barber’s, on Holderness Road, which continues to thrive.

Asan believes that Princes Avenue is a great place for his new barbershop to take off.

He said: “It is a good central location with a lot of people there and there are not many barbershops nearby.

“I thought a good way to advertise would be to offer free haircuts on the opening day and I plan to do as many as possible.

“It is no problem for me to do this just for a day and it should be really fun to meet new customers and be as busy as possible.”

Mr Ahmed has gone through a “crazy” month or so turning the barbershop into something he can be proud of.

He says all the tables are solid wood, the walls have lots of paint detailing and they have restored an original wood wall that has been there since the building was built.

Today, Asan and two other barbers will be working all day to cut as much hair as possible, but so far there are two permanent members of staff that will be working at Asan’s day-to-day.

He is hoping to achieve the same level as success with this barbershop as his business on Holderness Road and has big plans to accomplish as much as possible.
