A HULL man is facing jail after he sent sexual photographs of a woman on Facebook Messenger in a case of revenge porn.

Michael Dale sent the woman messages calling her a “s**g” and saying “I’m afraid of no law”, Hull Magistrates’ Court heard.

He also sent intimate photos of her to another individual on Facebook Messenger.

The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to disclosing private sexual photographs without consent and harassment without violence, when he appeared in court on Wednesday. Magistrates told Dale they couldn’t rule out sending him to jail for the offences.

Dale, of Sunny Bank, Hull, sent vile messages to the victim in which he said “I hope you die”.

He also told her to “watch what happens”, the court heard.

Magistrates were told Dale then sent three private photographs of the woman to someone else through a direct Facebook message. “The various screenshots of messages have been retracted from the defendant’s phone,” the bench was told by the prosecuting solicitor.

Texts sent by Dale read, “you’re a s**g”, “watch what’s happening”, “I’m afraid of no law”, “I’m coming for you” and “I don’t care about the police”.

Mitigating, a solicitor for Dale said two of the photographs had not been among the most serious level in their explicit nature.

Addressing the defendant, magistrates Mr Wilde and Mr Davies said: “I’m going to ask for a report - we are not discounting custody at this point.” Dale was released on unconditional bail and is due back before the court on July 25.

Dubbed “revenge porn”, the act of sending intimate photographs without a person’s consent became a criminal offence in 2015.

A man from East Yorkshire became the first person in England and Wales to be convicted of the offence later that year.

More recently, blackmailing or threatening to send explicit photographs also became an offence under the revised Domestic Abuse Bill in March last year, following campaigns from the likes of TV personality Zara Mcdermott.

Cases of blackmail over online sex pictures recorded by

Humberside Police jumped by 60 per cent during the pandemic, recent figures revealed.

Earlier this month, Hull man Kevin Broadley was given a suspended sentence for threatening to post a woman’s pictures online.
