Saints lead the way with Round Four’s attendances

-

ST Helens recorded the highest figure in Super League round four, with two clubs not giving out their figures – Hull KR and Leigh Leopards.

The Saints were defeated by Salford Red Devils with Deon Cross scoring late on to win the game 24-20 after Mark Percival’s red card.

A crowd of 11,548 were at the Totally Wicked Stadium, with Salford winning at St Helens for the first time in a whopping 44 years.

Elsewhere, 9,104 were in the South of France to watch Catalans Dragons beat Hull FC 26-12.

The attendance was a fair effort given that the Perpignan rugby union side were playing Toulouse just down the road, with the Stade Gilbert Brutus in fine voice as always.

At Wheldon Road, 7,040 fans watched Huddersfield Giants hammer Castleford Tigers 50-8, while in Wimbledon, 4.116 saw Wigan Warriors run out 60-22 winners over London Broncos.

Hull KR were edged out 22-20 by Warrington Wolves in a Thursday night thriller at Craven Park with Leeds Rhinos running out 22-16 winners at Leigh Sports Village.

The Rhinos were 16-0 down at half-time, with Ash Handley scoring twice to take his tally to seven in four games.
