Share a document from icloud Drive

1 Go to Files

Launch the Files app on your iphone or ipad and tap ‘Locations’ in the top-right corner. You’ll be able to choose from your cloud services. We’re going to select icloud Drive.

2 Search for docs

You should now see the folders you have within icloud. Since you can’t share a folder, you need to tap the one that contains the file you wish to share in order to open it.

3 Select a file

Tap and hold a document then tap ‘Share’ in the menu that appears. Alternativ­ely tap ‘Select’ (top-right), choose your files and hit the Share button in the bottom-left corner.

4 Choose a method

You can now select how you wish to share the document. You can Airdrop it or send it via Message, Mail or even have it open in another app. Simply tap the required option.

5 Collaborat­e with others

By storing files in icloud, you can invite others to collaborat­e on docs. Tap ‘Add People’ and select how to send the invite. You can manage the share options too.

6 Readying the doc

Once you’ve selected the person you wish to share with, the doc will be prepared and a link to the file (rather than an attachment) will be sent, letting them view and edit.
