Step-by-step Empty the cache in Safari

-

1 Launch Settings

Here we are going to clear the history and cookies that have built up in Safari. Open the Settings app and scroll down the screen until you reach the block of built-in apps.

2 Tap Safari

Among them is an entry for Safari. Tap on this and you will be taken to a host of settings for Apple’s web browser. Keep scrolling down the screen until you get towards the bottom.

3 Clear history

If you want to remove the entire cache within the Safari browser, then you need to look out for a prominent blue entry reading ‘Clear History and Website Data’. Tap on this.

4 Confirm your choice

You will be removing your history, cookies and other browsing data. If you are happy doing this, confirm by tapping ‘Clear History and Data’. Otherwise tap ‘Cancel’.

5 Use Advanced settings

For a bespoke clearance of data, tap ‘Advanced’. This is located at the bottom of the Safari settings screen. Once you’re on the Advanced screen, tap ‘Website Data’.

6 Edit the data

Now select ‘Edit’ in the top corner of the screen. You will be able to go down the list of data and remove unwanted cookies. In doing so, your history will remain intact.
