There are many extra features to discover in IOS 12…

It is more than possible that you will not notice the majority of the changes that IOS 12 brings because the list is long indeed. Apple has, as always, looked deep within the system and included all kinds of tweaks that when added together make for a seamless and smooth experience that is hard to beat. These little adjustments fix problems in some areas, add functionality in others and almost always bring a positive to areas that you likely did not consider less than perfect previously. Here are just some of the hidden changes…

1 The right word

The English Thesaurus offers the chance to immediately grab synonyms and related words with a couple of taps. A simple addition which offers a lot of power to those who write often.

2 Voice translations

More languages are now supported within Siri for instant translations. The list has grown to more than 40 language pairs which will come in very handy when you are abroad and need help.

3 Barcode recognition

The camera can now recognise barcodes when they are in view and it will highlight them for quicker reading. Again, Apple has looked at a less than common task and still improved it immeasurably.

4 Control your children

You can now limit the amount of screen time your children have when they are part of a Family Sharing group. It uses the new features to seamlessly offer caring control for any parent.

5 Fantastic filters

New photo effects are available within Messages with some new filters including comic book, classic black and white and watercolour. There are so many little changes in so many places.

6 Passwords from Siri

Siri can now offer specific passwords when asked which is a huge time saver, especially if you have many stored in your icloud account. The usual security is still used for your protection.
