Discover how to remove unwanted objects and create a cleaner composition
•Learn how to create a cleaner composition
We can’t always control every element in a composition. For example, a city skyline may be marred by cranes that distract the eye from a landmark. If we shoot on a DSLR then spots of dust can blight our images when we swap lenses. Fortunately, Photos’ Retouch tool can remove some unwanted objects to create a cleaner composition. This brush‑based tool samples pixels adjacent to the unwanted object and then places them over the object to conceal it. The tool works best if the unwanted objects are surrounded by areas of grass or sky. It’s not so effective if the unwanted object is overlapping a complex background. However, you can manually define the sampled area to transplant pixels more precisely.
