How to get the most out of icloud’s Family sharing settings

Apple Music

Sadly, you cannot share an existing, personal Apple Music account with family members. Instead you must purchase a family membership, but a free trial is available to test before splashing out.

Add family members

Tap here to invite family members to connect (up to six in total), or create a child account. For the latter, you can control what the younger family members can purchase on their iphones.

icloud Storage

If you have an excessive amount of leftover, paid-for icloud storage space then you can share it with family members at no extra cost by tapping here and then going through the various steps.

Location sharing

By having every member of your family turn on ‘Share My Location’, you will be able to see their connected device pinpointed on a map in the Messages and Find My Friends apps.
