Remove sensor spot
1 Import photo
Import our Skyline_start.jpg image. Click the ‘Review for Import’ button. Double‑click on the imported photo’s thumbnail. Click the Edit button to access Photos’ image‑editing tools.
2 Recompose
For a closer look at the landmark click Crop. Set ‘Aspect’ to ‘Original’. Tick the landscape shape. Drag the corners to tighten the crop. Make the grid intersect the dome.
Click ‘Adjust’ and zoom in to 100%. In the Adjust panel, click on the ‘Retouch’ brush. Set ‘Size’ to 45. Click the brush tip on the sensor spot to replace it with clear blue sky.
4 Remove the crane
Spray over the top of the crane, then the lower section and the bit that overlaps the bridge last. By working in increments you have more control over the retouching.
5 Keep going
If a retouched area looks blurred or smudged press cmd+z to undo, then re‑spray to try again. Spray several strokes to gradually remove the second crane from the shot.
6 Tidy up
To deal with smaller objects, tap the left square bracket key to shrink the brush tip. Spray over remaining smudged areas to replace them with cleaner pixels.
