Start tracking your sleep cycles
1 Go to Bedtime
Open the Clock app and there is an icon at the bottom called Bedtime. Press it to open the tab. Tap on the orange ‘Bedtime’ option and then turn on ‘Bedtime Schedule’.
2 Set the hours
Bedtime lights up and a clock face is displayed with an orange bar. Drag the icons at the start and end to indicate the usual times you go to bed and wake in the morning.
3 Set the days
Set the days you wish the schedule to apply to and then tap the orange ‘Bedtime’ option in the top-left corner to go back to the main screen. Now tap ‘Options’.
4 Time for bed
Do you want to be reminded when to go to bed? How far ahead do you need to know? Tap ‘Bedtime Reminder’ on the Options screen and select a time from the list.
5 Pick a sound
Bedtime wakes you up in the morning at the time set on the clock. Tap ‘Wake-up Sound’ on the Options screen and choose the sound to be woken by. You’ll hear a preview.
6 Good vibrations
When the morning alarm sounds, the iphone can also vibrate. On the Wake-up Sound screen, tap ‘Vibration’ and choose an option. It plays a preview when selected.
7 Track your sleep
If you track your sleep habits, swipe up the Bedtime screen to view the hours slept this week. The top and bottom lines are the times set in Bedtime. Press ‘Show more in Health’.
8 Further sleep analysis
The Health app opens in the sleep section. Use Apple Watch or other devices to record sleep hours, or press ‘Add’ to add them manually. Press ‘Data Sources & Access’.
9 Disable tracking
If you would prefer that your Health app didn’t gather information from your Clock app, go to Settings>health>data Access & Devices>clock and turn off the switches.
