I am planning a tapas evening for my family. How can I create a playlist on my Mac that only plays a specific type of music, in this case Spanish music?

- Fiona Foden

There are two things to try, the first is to create a Smart Playlist based on music in your library. The other is to create a radio station using Apple Music.

1 Search in Music

If you have an Apple Music account, search for a particular song as a starting point, then click on the ‘…’ icon next to it.

2 Create a station

From the menu, choose the ‘Create Station’ option and a new station based on your selection will start playing.

3 Create a playlist

Alternatively, click on File> New>smart Playlist and then start by changing the ‘Match’ menu to ‘Music’.

4 Set criteria

Now set the following criteria for the playlist to match: go to Genre/contains and type in a keyword to define the genre.

5 Start playing

When you click ‘OK’, Music will match up songs that meet the criteria from your library and the playlist will be created.
