Best settings for music styles
As we have discovered, you can apply import settings to each individual CD to obtain the best possible sound, but what are the recommended settings for the style of music you are importing? Of course, you can ramp up the Stereo Bit Rate to the max in all instances but if you are concerned about the size of the files then the following settings will help keep the file sizes down, but also help you obtain the best sound from the style of music that you want to import.
1 For rock, pop, etc…
For most music, including rock, pop, funk, jazz, EDM and reggae, set Stereo Bit Rate to 128kbps, Sample Rate to 44.100KHZ and tick ‘Use Variable Bit Rate Encoding’.

Bump up the data rates to capture all the stereo information. Set Stereo Bit Rate to 160kbps, Sample Rate to 44.100KHZ and tick ‘Use Variable Bit Rate Encoding’.
