there is a feature built into ios 11 that allows you to reclaim vast swathes of storage simply by changing the picture format. tap on ‘Formats’ and then switch to ‘High efficiency’ for the space-saving High efficiency image Format (HWIF) and High efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) formats.
