Use the Zoom option

Or rather, don’t! The Zoom option in Apple TV’S Settings (General> Accessibility>zoom) is not made for displaying letterbox-formatted films in full-screen on your TV. Trying to do this will place a pan box in the top-left corner and mess up the screen. It is for people with visual impairments.
