I was showing my friend how to do something on their iphone and I noticed that the on/off switches for various options in Settings looked different. I checked and his iphone is definitely running the same IOS (11.4.1) as mine, so what’s the deal?

When you say ‘looked different’, we presume that you mean that the buttons are displaying their on/off labels. You can actually toggle this feature in Settings. Go to General>accessibility and then scroll down to see the ‘On/off Labels’ option that you can enable to apply a slightly different look.

I have heard that it is possible to use bullet points in the macos Stickies app – how is this done?

Just click on a Stickies note and then press Cmd+alt+tab.

How do I type emojis on my Mac?

Hold down Cmd+ctrl and then press the spacebar to bring up the emoji type menu. You can cycle through the various collections by scrolling down through the menu or by using the icons at the bottom of the window to fast-track to the desired theme.
