For each place setting, spray-paint a pear silver. Leave to dry, then apply a second coat. While they’re drying, write the name of each guest on a fresh leaf in silver pen. Attach the leaves to the stalks of the dried pears using florist’s wire or ribbon. Tie each set of cutlery together with a length of silver ribbon and lay on top of the napkin, placing the silver pear next to it on the plate or placemat.
