Serve up a festive showstopper

We’ve sampled, scoffed and supped our way through heaps of Christmas treats so that you can enjoy a ‘ta dah!’ moment or two at the dinner table. You’re welcome!

The secret centre

One for the younger crowd, this chocolate dome comes with marshmallow frosting and sugar holly leaves.

Give it a piñata-style wallop with a spoon and the shell will crack open to release choc-covered malt balls and sugar stars on a chocolate-frosted sponge cake. A bit naughty, but very nice.

The melting dome

Another ‘hidden treasure’ dessert, Tesco’s Belgian gold-flecked chocolate dome comes with pot of caramel sauce that you heat before drizzling over the top.

This instantly melts the crisp shell to reveal a rich, delicately layered dessert of chocolate brownie, mousse and hazelnuts.

The festive message

What this dessert lacks in theatre, it certainly makes up for in taste. We defy you not to like Sainsbury’s festive four-lettered dessert: a mix of milk and dark Belgian chocolate, shortcake biscuits, dried cranberries and raisins, finished with a gold coating to make it extra special.
