‘The copper details really make it’
Moving the bath was a game changer in Catherine Williams’s bathroom revamp, but it’s the metallic accents that bring it to life
into the bathroom, it’s so gorgeous that it feels like I’m on a luxurious holiday, but even hotel bathrooms don’t live up to this!
how CATHERINE And GEORGE did it
‘The layout was totally wrong before, with the bath jammed against the shortest wall at the back and a tiny shower that was built against a false wall, leaving a huge empty space in the middle. A friend recommended a local design company who gave us some great ideas. We used them for the whole project, from the design to the installation, which took three weeks and cost £7,000. We’ve ended up with a much more practical layout and a bigger bath, shower and basin – the proportions are better suited to the room. Building false walls to hide the pipework meant we could have storage niches and these have elevated the room to something special – they are the first thing people comment on when they see the bathroom. We’re totally thrilled with the results.’
