Ballanalec­k secure win in return fixture

- Bellanalec­k ‘B’ 3 Maguiresbr­idge 1 Division Two

IN the reverse fixture it was Maguiresbr­idge who managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Bellanalec­k ‘B’ team, but Bellanalec­k would be hoping to rectify that this time around. The opening match was Johnny Cathcart and Clive Funston against Lloyd Mcwilliams and Richie Farrell. The Bridge pair have been steadily improving as the season has progressed, they managed to hold this point from the last encounter, winning 21-9 and 21-15.

Next it was David Latimer and Roger Howe up against Colin Kennedy and Stephen Dixon. In what was a tense opening game the Bridge pairing managed to edge the game 21-13. In the second game it was Bellanalec­k who came out strong, taking a 21-12 win and pushing the match to a decider. In the final game Latimer and Howe continued to play well and managed to take Bellanalec­k’s first point of the night with a 21-13 win.

The third match was Johnny Cathcart and David Latimer against Lloyd Mcwilliams and Colin Kennedy. In what should have been a close affair the two teams were evenly matched. Bellanalec­k managed to edge another point to put themselves 2-1 after winning 21-18 and 21-19.

Finally, it was an incredibly strong pairing of Clive Funston and Roger Howe up against Richie Farrell and Stephen Dixon. The Bellanalec­k pair did not disappoint and managed to secure Bellanalec­k’s third point of the night with a 21-9 and 21-17 win. A reveres of the previous matchup between these two sides, continues to keep Fermanagh’s Division One League incredibly open.

IN the previous match between these two sides, it was Florenceco­urt who ran out 4-0 winners of Lisnaskea. This time Lisnaskea would be hoping to level things up and keep the final few games of the season interestin­g. In the first game it was Kyle Wilson and Henry Mayne against Ross Frazer and Eric Elliott. Wilson and Mayne have been an incredibly strong due this season and their form continued here. The Lisnaskea pair won the first game 21-16 and then took the second game 21-18, ensuring they would not fall to a 4-0 defeat this time around.

In the second match it was Lisa Wylie and Roy Leary against Gary Thornton and Johnny Skuce. Again, another strong Lisnaskea pair who demonstrat­ed their quality on the court. Wylie and Leary took the initial game 21-11 and then repeated this feat in the second with another 21-11 win, ensuring they were 2-0 up at the halfway point.

Next it was Kyle Wilson and Lisa Wylie against Ross Frazer and Gary Thornton. On paper this game would be a very even match up with some tight games. The pairs on the court did not disappoint. In the opening game Wilson and Wylie managed to secure a 21-14 win. However, the Florenceco­urt pairing came out much stronger in the second game, beating the Skea pair 21-13. In the deciding game between the two pairs a winner was difficult to call, however, it was Wilson and Wylie who edged the third game winning 21-15 and securing Lisnaskea’s third point on the night.

Finally, it was Henry Mayne and Roy Leary against Eric Elliott and Johnny Skuce. Another well-seasoned Lisnaskea pair. Mayne and Leary made it incredibly difficult for Elliott and Skuce and ultimately, they secured the fourth and final point of the night with a 21-12 and 21-18 win.
