BEN Brown was the big winner at Castle Hume last week as he recorded a hugely memorable club competition title.

Playing off a six handicap, Ben recorded 11 Pars and two birdies in his winning round to sign for 39 points and a first podium finish for some time. This performance was packed with lots of memorable shots and with the course proving a great test of both skill and patience. Ben mastered all elements with a sublime performance.

In runner-up spot and showing what a great performance he can deliver was club captain David

Mcquade. A score of 38 points was recorded to take him to a well deserved podium position.

Completing the top three was Douglas Hutton with a hugely impressive 37 points.

In the highly contested Gross Category, Mark Mcconkey was again dominant as he put on another strong performance to record a score of 34 points.

Congratulations to all the Castle Hume winners last week.

The club will be running another club competition this week with all members hoping for more favourable and dryer weather.

there alone, as Callum Ramsey must also have been doing his homework, he is joint leader with Chris also with 135 points and no countback in this competition. Lying in third place is Hazel Hogg with 130 points.

Members are reminded that to participate in Captains day (Gary Smyth), Lady Captain’s day (Jackie Crawford), President’s day (Willie Mcbrien), entrants must have a minimum of six acceptable scores in 18 hole competitions at Enniskillen Golf Club from January 2024.

This also applies to entry for the Mercer Watch competition with a cap on handicap of 24 for gents and 36 for ladies. Entry for 2024 knock out competitions Guinness Cup, Hospice Cup, Mercer Watch and Archdale Cup is now open on the Club V1 app under ‘knock outs’.

Huge congratulations to Evelyn Bradshaw’s Challenge Trophy team, who saw off Bundoran, again, in less than ideal conditions, with a convincing 4-1 win at Bundoran.

This Sunday the ladies travel to

Slieve Russell to compete in the North/south Shield. The North sector is represented by Lough Erne and Enniskillen. The south by Blacklion and Slieve Russell, last year’s victors.
