So close yet so far

During the last few weeks I have been fishing several times and have had at least 4-5 10lb carp within range of my 4m pole, but they are not biting (perhaps they are spawning?). I tried every bait in my box but still couldn’t get a bite changing every hour or so. Has anyone caught on a specific bait recently or have I just lost my touch over the winter?
