Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK)

Q I normally use back leads to keep my line pinned to the deck but I’ve just started fishing a really weedy lake which means I can’t use back leads. How can I stop my line spooking fish in this type of water?

JACK FUNNEL: The easiest way of doing this is to use a heavy, fluorocarbon mainline; something like 20lb Mirage will make sure the line is pinned to the bottom. The key is to keep slackening off and it will get right down. It is also extremely abrasive-resistant, making it perfect for weedy waters.
