Have a mini ‘Fish Off’

Much of my specimen fishing is done on my own, but from time to time it is nice to have a day out with friends and family, and on these days we regularly have a ‘Mini Fish Off’! It’s very simple, we split the day into three small matches, with the first being on the float and you have to fish up in the water for the likes roach and rudd, with the winner being the one who catches the most. Second, we float fish on the bottom for tench and bream, with the biggest combined weight winning. Finally, it is any form of feeder or lead set-up for the carp, with the biggest fish claiming victory. It is a great way to spice up a day out with your mates, and also makes you more proficient at different styles of fishing.
