Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK)

Small pole pot

-

The whole point of feeding a swim is to attract fish and then tempt them to take your hookbait as quickly as possible. If a big bed of bait has been laid down with a dump pot then the fish will slurp up a few freebies and quickly move on. By using a Preston Innovations soft CAD pot you make sure you are only feeding a small amount each time you top up. These pots come in three sizes and a small one will take 70 4mm pellets, the medium 140 and large 240. The smallest pot should be your best friend as you really want to restrict the amount you are piling in. A regular yet minimal trickle of bait will soon get the fish competing and I’d top up with a pinch of pellets after each fish or every 5-10 minutes. Keep feeding at that rate if you are catching, increasing by maybe 10 pellets at a time if things are slow and you are trying to provoke a response. Accuracy is also paramount and the hookbait must end up right in the middle of the loosefeed so a fish will

slurp in the hookbait when feeding.
