How long can my boilies be left to soak up bait dips? NEIL WARD, CHELMSFORD

AThere’s nothing wrong with leaving your boilies in a dip for months on end, as the more flavour you can get inside a bait, the more appealing it will be. Take a pot, fill it with glug or dip and pop in the boilies. Seal the lid and leave them on a shelf for a few weeks to absorb the flavour. They can only take on so much and can start to go a little soft and mushy if over-soaked, so keep checking. Use an oil-based liquid as opposed to water-based, as this prevents premature breakdown during the soaking process.
