Q I struggle to tie on popup hook baits with floss but I think bait screws will affect the buoyancy of the bait. Is there an easier way to attach them? Craig Wakefield, via email
DAN WILDBORE: If you are struggling with flossing it on, bait screws are a great alternative. They are made of very light materials and won’t affect buoyancy. The Thinking Anglers bait screws have the hook ring swivels inside, which will add a lot of movement to the rig. They will spin 360 degrees and actually offer more movement than a standard flossed bait. Something like 16mm Krill pop-ups are very buoyant and tough, so will grip the screw perfectly. Alternatively, a hook ring swivel will enable you to pull the floss through the bait.
