Gear up for specimen tench this month

THERE are few species more synonymous with spring and summer angling than tench. But although casting a float next to a set of lily pads automatically comes to mind when you think about targeting tench, the bigger specimens these days are normally taken on scaled-down carp set-ups with hair-rigs and bolt rigs now commonplace.
