ROD POSITION

A huge proportion of anglers chuck out the bomb and then swing the rod to their left or right before putting it on the rests. Doing this moves the bomb out of position and drags it away from where the loosefeed is. “I almost have the rod pointing straight at where I am fishing, with just a slight angle to prevent it being dragged in! “Having the rod at this angle also helps the fish hook themselves as there is more resistance than if a cushioned tip is allowed to bend all the way round.”
