1. Floaters

Feeding a variety of different-sized baits will make it harder for the carp to single out your hookbait.

2. Polarised glasses

A pair of polarised glasses are an absolute must. They remove surface glare from the water, which makes spotting carp cruising around just below the surface so much easier.

3. Controllers

If the fish are close in you can simply freeline your hookbait. If they are further out you’ll need a controller float to cast the required distance. There are a variety of controller floats available depending on how far out you need to fish.

4. Baiting tools

For short range work you will be able to bait up with a catapult. If the fish are sitting further out a Spomb is ideal. Bait slightly downwind of the carp and let the breeze push them over to where they are feeding.
