KEEP OTTERS OUT!

I recently saw an interview with John Wilson on YouTube, just before he left for Thailand. He made a lot of sense on a range of angling-related issues including otters (the creatures not the ale!). One of my local fisheries has been decimated by a family of otters. Big carp have been killed and one lake in particular has suffered. Although I have always been a wildlife lover like John Wilson, I have to admit that I support fishery owners being able to prevent otters from damaging their livelihoods. Otters are wonderful creatures and always a special treat to glimpse in the wild but they must be kept away from fisheries. As a tongue-in- cheek aside, I wish we could also deter Canada geese and mallards from ruining our surface fishing!
