Welcome from the Editor...

WELCOME to the latest issue of IYCF. If you’re looking to add a bit of extra fun and a competitive element to your fishing this summer, make sure you get yourself signed up to the #Catch22fish challenge. It’s really simple and all you have to do is try and catch all the 22 target species which we have on the list. Everyone in the IYCF and Angling Times office is taking part and so far Angling Times editor Steve Fitzpatrick is leading the way with five species. You can download your free fish ID guide and Catch 22 list online at www.anglingtimes.co.uk, then all you have to do is get out and get catching. Of course, you will find loads of easy-to-try tactics and advice in IYCF every month to help you catch the various species. In this issue we’ve got features covering tench, carp, F1s, bream, silver fish and barbel – more than enough to help get your #catch22fish campaign up and running! Remember, if you post your catches on social media use the hashtag #catch22fish so that we can see how you’re getting on. The method of the month has to be the pellet waggler. There’s a really informative piece with Pemb Wrighting on page 24, about how he fishes the tactic. I’m looking forward to putting some of the tips he reveals into practice at the upcoming annual Angling Times/Improve Your Coarse Fishing office pairs match at Decoy Lakes just outside Peterborough later in the month. We also look at some of the best pellet waggler rods currently on the market in this month’s tackle pages. I hope you enjoy the issue!
