Feeder types explained

There’s a wide selection available so make sure you choose the right one for the job

-

Flatbed Method

These dominate the commercial carp scene. Used with the correct mould, you get an identical payload every time. The flat bottom means they can be fished over sloping banks near islands or far margins.

Maggot feeder

Ideal for a range of species on both running and stillwaters, especially in winter. The numerous small holes enable a slow release of maggots into the swim.

Cage feeder

These let the bait out as it falls through the water and are excellent for putting attraction in the swim when targeting roach and skimmers.

Pellet feeder

Easy to load and, because the carp can only approach the bait from one direction, it increases the chance of the them picking up the hookbait. Very good in late autumn and early winter.

Hybrid feeder

This unique feeder offers the compactness of a pellet feeder and the aerodynamics of a Method. Quick and easy to load, the side walls stop the bait coming off the feeder on the way down.

Bullet feeder

A style of maggot feeder with the weight built into one end. This design enables the feeder to be cast accurately and at distance in windy conditions.

Open-end feeder

A versatile feeder that covers a multitude of still and running-water duties. Solid versions without holes are also available to ensure no bait escapes before the feeder hits bottom.

Distance feeder

A weight-forward feeder for bream and roach fishing on big waters. They can be cast long distances with ease and are incredibly accurate, even in windy weather.

Window feeder

Similar in appearance to a block-end feeder but with a section cut out of the main body. They are brilliant for sending a quantity of particles, especially worm and caster, to the bottom.
