Kodex CX- X- i Bite Alarms

THE new CX- i wireless bite alarms from Kodex have been on our radar for a while, so we were very excited when they finally arrived at IYCF HQ.

On opening the case, first impressions where that they certainly looked the part with a subtle carbon- effect fascia. But there’s far more to these alarms than just their good looks. They are bursting with technology to ensure that you’re made aware of every bite.

They have soft- touch buttons which can be used to fine tune the alams’ sensitivity, tone and volume. There’s even a handy on/ off silence mode for when you’re setting up so you don’t annoy other anglers on the lake with constant bleeping!

The LED indicator light can be set to your choice of colour from blue, green, purple, red, white or yellow and there’s an anti- slip TPE channel to prevent slipping and hold your rod securely in position.

Each alarm head is supplied with optional screw- in snag bars for situations where you need a bit of extra security.

The receiver has a wireless range of more than 100m ( although you should obviously never stray this far from your rods) and this features a vibration- only mode and volume control. The alarms require 9v batteries and the receiver runs off 3xAAA batteries.

All in all, this set, although technically advanced, are easy to set up and pairing the alarms with the receiver is a doddle thanks to the rolling code PRNG technology.
