Improve Your Coarse Fishing (UK)

Welcome...

- James Furness, Editor

THANKS for purchasing the first issue of IYCF of 2022.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year, and got all the new fishing tackle you were hoping for!

We know that this is the time of year when many of you start to think about plans for the next 12 months. Which pb will you try and break? Maybe you want to try a new tactic for the first time? Or perhaps you’re thinking about fishing a different type of venue to what you’re used to?

To help you firm up your plans we’ve put together a special 20- page section detailing our pick of the venues which we think will give you the best chance of ticking off some of the most popular coarse angling goals.

So, whether you want to put together a big bag of stillwater roach, catch a 2lb- plus perch, land your first pike on a lure, or compile a triple figure weight of carp, we’ve got a venue near to you where you’ll be in with an excellent chance of acheiving your target. Of course, we’d love to hear how you get on during the year, so drop us a line about any goals you successfully accomplish.

I’m looking forward to fishing some of the waters on a new club book over the next 12 months. There’s a real mix of venues to fish so that should keep me occupied for a while! One of my main targets will be to try and catch a big rudd. Bar one evening session last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I haven’t given the species enough attention over recent years. So, to bag myself a decent one in 2022 would be amazing. For the next couple of months, though, I will be continuing to focus mainly on perch but also plan to have a couple of sessions just fishing a maggot feeder to see whatever comes along.

I hope you enjoy this month’s issue, and if you haven’t already, please check out our latest subscription offers ( see page 26 for more info) to ensure you never miss an issue. See you next month.
