Interest at maturity
CHILD OF OUR TIME | BBC 1 9PM
It’s been four years since we last checked in with the British children born at the turn of the millennium, but as they’re all reaching their 16th birthdays, we’re definitely due a catch-up.
Over the course of two episodes, Professors Robert Winston and Tanya Byron will explore the hormonal changes the children – now nearly adults – have undergone since we last saw them, and how changes in technology and social attitudes have influenced their lives.
Tonight’s episode reveals some significant changes in personality – formerly shy and anxious Matt is now the life of the party, while one-time tomboy Megan is much more image-conscious than she was. And the boffins explain the science behind why the opinions of their peers are so important to teenagers.
