Vanessa: gunning for Pierce

It looks as if the game could finally be up for nasty Pierce this week – when Vanessa spies him watching the sex tape he adamantly promised Rhona that he’d deleted.
Vanessa spots her archenemy through the window of Smithy Cottage and realises he’s viewing the video that has caused Rhona so much pain and shame. To the plucky vet, this is the evidence she needs to convince her best friend that Pierce is a liar and not marriage material. But will brainwashed Rhona even listen?

For months, Vanessa has been in turmoil after realising that Pierce is a terrible person. He can’t be bothered to pretend with her any more, but Vanessa hasn’t been able to prove what he’s really like to Rhona. However, now she has evidence to support her claims. “Vanessa can’t quite believe what she’s seen,” exclaims Michelle Hardwick, who plays her. “Just when she thinks Pierce can’t possibly top all the awful things he’s done so far, she sees that he’s lied to Rhona and kept a copy of the sex video. It winds her up so much that she decides she has to put a stop to this once and for all.” The problem is, Rhona doesn’t believe Vanessa when she drops the latest Pierce bombshell.
“Their friendship is just so rocky at the moment,” shares Michelle. “Vanessa is desperate for Rhona to see the real Pierce, but by doing that she’s constantly winding up Rhona and pushing her buttons. Vanessa will do whatever it takes, though, because Rhona is her friend and she loves her.”
Given Vanessa’s feelings, Pierce has convinced Rhona that she shouldn’t be involved in the wedding ceremony. Even so, it’s a tough moment for Vanessa when she finds out that Carly has replaced her as maid of honour.

Vanessa wants to be at her best friend’s wedding, but she doesn’t want to see Rhona marry this man, this monster. And she knows that Pierce steering Rhona to pick Carly is another dig at her.”
Wily Pierce has successfully managed to drive a wedge between his bride-to-be and her closest pal – but now Vanessa is armed with new information. It just remains to be seen what Pierce will do when he discovers that she’s got some dirt on him. Should Vanessa be scared?
“I think Vanessa is definitely in danger,” warns Michelle. “We’ve all seen that dark side to Pierce, and I think anybody who crosses him could be in grave peril. He’s already hinted that if she messes with him, he’ll do her and her family harm.
“But Vanessa is scrappy, and she can look after herself,” adds the actress. “Maybe Pierce is the one who should watch out, because Vanessa will do anything to stop this dodgy marriage…”
As the battle between Vanessa and Pierce escalates, who will come out on top?
