DAVID TELLS GAIL THAT MARIA IS PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD…

David and Maria have had barrels of fun fooling Gail with their pretend romance – and this week they take the prank to a new level by telling Gail that Maria is preggers! But there’s a serious admission to come from Maria…

“Gail is delighted to see David moving on with Maria after Kylie, though this baby news knocks her entirely for six,” reveals our Street source. “Not only do they fool Gail into believing Maria is carrying David’s child, but they also announce that they’re getting engaged! Most people would suspect something isn’t quite right by this point, but not Gail – she’s probably already picked out a hat for the wedding.”

Thankfully, Audrey is more on the ball than her gullible daughter, and lets her in on the wind-up. Astounded Gail isn’t happy about being the butt of her son’s naughty joke, and resolves to get her own back…

However, while David has been using Maria to put one over on his mum, she’s been using David in turn to try and ruffle Aidan’s feathers. The ex-lovers haven’t had much to do with each other since she returned to the Street, but when Maria spots Aidan in the café, she decides to cosy up to David in an effort to make her former flame jealous.

picks up on the tension and pushes Maria to spill the beans. She doesn’t take a lot of convincing – Maria is more than happy to reveal all the details of her affair with Aidan. “Aidan seems pretty confident that his secret is safe, but the pain of rejection is bubbling inside Maria – she’s definitely a potential loose cannon!” reckons our mole. “Of course Johnny is clued in, Jenny is extremely suspicious, and now David knows as well. With more and more people learning the truth, the odds of Eva finding out are growing daily…”
