Grieving Liam is more determined than ever to make Grace pay for his lover Eva’s death this week – and kidnaps Esther to take his revenge on his sister!
Grace and Esther’s relationship has been a messy one, thanks to the lies Esther’s jealous wife Kim has been drip-feeding her about her love rival. But in spite of the bad blood between the women, Liam knows that Esther means the world to Grace – which is why he uses her as a pawn in his quest for vengeance…
“Liam thinks the only way he can get at Grace is by taking away the thing that means most to her – which is Esther,” explains Jazmine Franks, who plays the abduction victim.
“He sticks her in a big shipping container! She knows why he’s kidnapped her, and realises that he could snap at any moment. He could actually end up killing her, so I think there’s a lot of fear in Esther.”
Grace is besides herself with worry over her missing friend, and initially accuses crazy Kim of stealing her away from the village. Meanwhile, trapped Esther has come a long way since suffering her brain injury last year, and manages to hold her own in the face of Liam’s intimidation tactics.
“Her injury has changed her – she’s a bit more sassy, and I like it!” laughs Jazmine. “Esther’s not as gullible as she was before, and won’t put up with people trying to take advantage. Once upon a time she’d have sat in the corner of the container and cried until Liam let her go, but now she says,
‘If you were going to kill me, you’d have done it by now’. I think it puts Liam on the back foot.”
Nevertheless,
Liam revels in telling
horrified Grace what he’s done with Esther – and then demands a whopping £50k from her if she ever wants to see her friend again! A successful businesswoman Grace may be, but even she can’t rustle up that kind of money, so she asks Warren for a loan. However, there’s one condition: if Grace doesn’t pay him back by the end of the day, the Loft will become his!
“The Loft is everything to Grace, isn’t it?” muses Jazmine. “It’s her life. That club is probably the last thing she has left of Trevor, so it’s a huge deal. Esther has no idea what Grace is willing to sacrifice for her, but I think she’d be over the moon to hear that she’s putting the Loft on the line.”
With both of their futures hanging in the balance, has Grace done enough to bring Esther safely home – or might she lose her business as well as the love of her life?
