As his health takes a worrying turn, will Jenny seize control of his empire?

We placed our bets on our ‘Hits & Misses’ back page recently, predicting Johnny Connor would be struck down by an illness.

Now, we hate to say we told you so, but reports have since emerged that the Underworld boss will undergo tests for a number of serious diseases. What could be wrong with him?

“Johnny doesn’t seem to be in great shape, and his worried daughter Kate will eventually force him to go for some medical tests,” reveals our Weatherfield insider. “Coronation Street is good at raising awareness on health issues, and this looks to be another chance to do so when Johnny is tested for conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s disease.”

There have already been signs pointing towards Johnny’s poor health. Recently, Kate noticed that her father was unsteady on his feet, and that he was struggling to focus while proofreading his own wedding invitations. Jenny also spotted her fiancé having trouble when trying to button his shirt, and the fella has been experiencing a tingling sensation in his hands. But what will his tests reveal?

“The results are not being disclosed yet,” our mole tells us. “However, with Johnny due to marry Jenny, they could have huge repercussions…”

There is no doubt that Jenny loves her fella dearly – but it’s clear that she loves his wallet just as much! We know that she reluctantly signed a prenuptial agreement after Johnny popped the question – though we don’t imagine a pesky document will stop Ms Bradley from seizing control of her other half’s empire if Johnny becomes unwell.

The investigation into the factory owner’s illness will begin in the coming weeks.
