Warring parents Steve and Leanne are in turmoil this week – as baby Oliver fights for his life.
Tempers flare when Steve fails to pick up Oliver on time, and Leanne’s fiancé Nick won’t let the feckless dad have his son for the night. And later in the week, Leanne is horrified to find the infant unconscious…
“It’s a terrifying moment for everyone,” sighs our cobbles insider. “The little lad has been poorly and had a rash, but Leanne just put that down to something minor. However, when she finds Oliver and realises how dangerous the situation is, Leanne knows it’ll be a race against time to get him medical help. They all have to face the thought that they could lose their little boy.”
Before the drama kicks off, Nick is the one who’s finding it hard to cope with the situation with Steve. He’s still furious that Oliver’s biological dad is in the picture, and would like nothing better than for Steve to mess up so badly that Leanne bans him from having access. That means Nick is just waiting for Steve to make a mistake – and he seizes every opportunity to rattle his foe’s cage.

doesn’t realise is the toll all this is having on Leanne. She’s already stressed at the rash on her son’s back, and the last thing she needs is more friction.
The next day, Leanne gives Steve the chance to spend time with Oliver, and the boys go to the beach. As she takes the baby home later, Leanne is relieved to have defused things – but then tragedy strikes…
“Little does Steve know that he’ll soon be rushing to the hospital and once again face a heartbreaking wait to find out the fate of his child,” says our spy. “The memories of little Ruairi must weigh heavily on him when Nick calls him with the news.”
As the three worried parents wait to hear what the doctors have to say, the divide between them has never been wider. Can they find a way to unite and give little Oliver a fighting chance?
