Desperate Steven ramps up his efforts to hold on to partner Lauren this week, and there’s no denying his intense behaviour is deeply troubling.
For the past few weeks, Steven has suspected that Lauren is growing tired of him and their home together. She’s begun trying to forge a life of her own, and in starting her new job at dad Max’s swanky company, Lauren is making strides. Feeling left behind, Steven is determined to curtail Lauren’s independence in any way he can – but how far will he go to hang on to her?
“Steven has a history of dark, disturbing behaviour,” says our Walford spy. “Don’t forget, this is the man who started a letter campaign against the Beales supposedly from his dead mum, Cindy. That explosive chapter of their family history ended in Jane being shot and hurt so badly that she can never have children. It goes to show just what Steven is capable of.”
About the only remaining bond between Lauren and Steven is their love for baby Louie. Although the little lad is his brother Peter’s biological son, Steven thinks of him as his own – and wants to add to their family. The problem with that is, Lauren has no intention of having another baby just yet… but Steven won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. That’s led him to try to trick her into getting pregnant by sabotaging their birth control!

evident than when Steven makes an ill-judged decision to visit her at her place of work. She’s horrified to see him and little Louie in the office, and knows how unprofessional it looks. The clash leaves Steven feeling more insecure than ever – and even more hellbent on not letting Lauren go.
“Lauren and Louie are Steven’s life – without them, he’s nothing,” reckons our snoop. “That’s why he’s so entrenched in Ian’s business empire, to try to give them a great life. He doesn’t want Lauren to be working in the City, meeting flash fellas and having her head turned. He wants to keep her in Walford, living in domestic bliss. If she won’t do so voluntarily, Steven will find a way to keep her.”
Given that he’s willing to trick her into having another baby, what will Steven’s next move be? And who will pay the price for his obsession?
